St. Augustine School Recognized With Three PBIS Badges for 2025-2026 SY

We are SO proud to celebrate Saint Augustine Catholic School for earning THREE PBIS Maryland Award Badges! This recognition celebrates our work in Our Classroom, Our Community; Instruction and Restorative Practices; and The Power of Teaching.

These awards represent so much more than programs and practices, they reflect the culture we are building together at SAS. Through Angels in Action and our SAS House System, we celebrate not only the great things our students accomplish, but even more importantly, who they are becoming and who God is calling them to be. We are forming young people who lead with faith, serve others with compassion, take responsibility for their actions, and recognize the gifts God has given them.

PBIS Maryland was established in 1999 through a collaborative partnership between the Maryland State Department of Education, Johns Hopkins University, Sheppard Pratt, and local educational systems. The primary goal of PBIS is to support schools in adopting and sustaining a multi-tiered framework that encourages the use of evidence-based practices to enhance the success of all students. It focuses on improving student social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health wellbeing through a structured system of support.

Since the 2022-2023 school year, schools across Maryland, including St. Augustine, have continued to leverage the PBIS framework to create more inclusive, supportive, and academically enriching environments. The recognition we’ve received with these badges underscores our ongoing dedication to the PBIS mission and its impact on our school community.

For over 160 years, St. Augustine Catholic School has provided a faith-based, academically rigorous education to PreK-3 through Grade 8 students.
