Saint Augustine Catholic School Named a Maryland Blue Ribbon School!
We are thrilled to share that SAS has been named a 2026-2027 Maryland Blue Ribbon School, recognizing the outstanding academic achievement of our students and the educational experience that makes our school so special.
Saint Augustine is among just 23 schools across Maryland and six within the Archdiocese of Baltimore selected for this prestigious distinction. The Maryland Blue Ribbon Schools program recognizes exceptional academic performance, with a focus on student achievement in mathematics and reading. For our SAS community, this honor is an exciting opportunity to celebrate the learning, growth, and accomplishments taking place in our classrooms every day.
More Than 160 Years of Learning, Faith, and Achievement
Academic excellence has long been part of the Saint Augustine Catholic School story. For over 160 years, generations of SAS Angels have benefited from an education that combines challenging academics with the values and traditions of our Catholic faith.
Our students are encouraged to ask questions, think independently, explore new ideas, and take an active role in their education. From the early learning experiences of our youngest Angels to the preparation our eighth graders receive for high school, each stage of the journey builds on the knowledge, confidence, and skills students develop along the way.
This latest recognition adds to a history of academic achievement at Saint Augustine, including our previous National Blue Ribbon School recognition in 2013. It is another exciting milestone for a school community that continues to build on its traditions while preparing students for the future.
What Makes the SAS Experience Special?
At Saint Augustine, we know that some of the most important lessons students learn extend beyond textbooks and tests. Academic growth is an important part of their education, but so are the experiences that help them discover their strengths, build meaningful relationships, and understand their responsibility to others.

Through faith formation, service, and leadership experiences, our Angels also learn how to put their knowledge and God-given gifts into action.
