Summer Camps 2018
Summer Camps are offered to SAS students the week of June 18-22nd, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM each day. Choose from Oil Painting for rising 4th - 8th graders, Arts & Crafts for rising 2nd - 5th graders, and Food, Fitness, and Fun for rising 6th - 8th graders.
Our beginner level oil painting class is open to students entering grades 4-8. It offers an introduction into oil painting. Topics covered will include basic color theory, color contrast and attributes (such as harmony, psychology mood, etc), composition, surfaces: wood, canvas, etc. and how to prep them, painting techniques, oil mediums, and painting history (impressionism, expressionism, realism, modern art). Students will be working from photographs they bring to class.

There will be about a 1 hour long lunch break/recess each day. Students should pack their own lunch and snacks.
Registration fee is $300.00 and includes most supplies (paints, brushes, mediums and up to 2 canvases per student).
Arts & Crafts
Arts & Crafts camp is for children in grades 2-5 who like to create personalized arts and crafts while having fun!
The $225 registration fee covers all materials. Ideas for projects may include:

- · Envirnonmental friendly art projects –bird feeders
- · Long term projects like decorating pottery
- · Projects personalized for your family
- . Create your own rope dish
- . Create your own jewelry dish
Minimum of two crafts per day.
Food, Fitness, and Fun!
Our Food, Fitness, and Fun camp focuses on kids entering grades 6-8 having fun while encouraging them to live a healthy lifestyle! The $225 registration fee covers all instruction and materials.
Campers will learn about wellness through many fun interactive activities that may include nutrition, cooking, physical activities such as Yoga, Zumba,and Cardio Kickboxing. This camp is designed to teach kids the importance of proper nutrition and physical activity while having fun at the same time.
Each class is capped at 20 students. Students should bring a nut-free lunch each day.
