Ms. Mackay Receives Archdiocese of Baltimore Teaching Excellence Award

The Archdiocese of Baltimore’s teaching excellence awards recognize teachers who have distinguished themselves as exemplary teachers who are truly committed to the witness of Christian teaching. This year our very own 2nd grade teacher, Sue Mackay was the recipient of one of these awards.

Ms. Sue Mackay has been teaching in the Archdiocese of Baltimore for 16 years and is beginning her 8th year at St. Augustine.  Any parent whose student has been in Ms. Mackay’s class know that she is an amazing teacher.  In her classroom students are thinking, moving, singing, acting, discovering and being creative.   Additionally, Ms. Mackay’s nomination form cites “Her love of God is evident in her love of all people. It is this attitude that makes her students love school and succeed.  She believes that every student is gifted, every student is creative and every student is brilliant.  This gives her students such confidence and they do rise to her high expectations of them.”

Ms. Mackay is a wonderful representative of the teachers at SAS, all of whom inspire greatness in our students and help them to use their God given talents to make our world a better place.

Congratulations Ms. Mackay on this well-deserved award.  We are blessed to have you in our community!
