St. Augustine Catholic School and the Archdiocese of Baltimore have a commitment to maintaining the trust of the faithful by providing our children and youth with safe environments characterized by healthy relationships. Please read the letter below from our Principal and the attached letter from Jerri Burkhardt, Director of the Archdiocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection:
Dear Parents, Guardians and Volunteers,
The Archdiocese of Baltimore Office of Child & Youth Protection is in the midst of a transition from the Shield the Vulnerable compliance management system to Virtus. Please read the letter from Jerri Burkhardt, Director of Office of Child & Youth Protection.
As of November 1st, all current volunteers, who registered on Shield the Vulnerable between September 2014 and October 31, 2017, WILL NOT be required to create a new volunteer account on Virtus. All records will transfer from Shield the Vulnerable to Virtus. Please do not go on and register as this will create a duplicate account.
New volunteers, who never registered on Shield the Vulnerable, will be required to register an account on Virtus. Although Virtus does not have a section for three references at this time, it will still be a requirement and is the final step on the instructions. The Archdiocesan polices updated in 2014 remain unchanged.
If you want to be emailed the step by step instructions for registering on Virtus or if you have any questions, please email our Virtus Screening Coordinator, Cheryl Marc at
email@example.com or contact the school office.
Thank You for your commitment in helping us provide our children with a safe environment.
